Am 14.Mai 2000 haben 14 schwule Männer, die auch bei anderen Projekten und Partys, z.B. SchwuZ, aha, u.a. aktiv mitarbeiteten, den Verein "Ajpnia" gegründet. Seit dem 2. August 2000 sind wir ein eingetragener Verein. Danach haben wir geeignete Räume gesucht und nach gemeinsamen Vorstellungen und Plänen ausgebaut. Wir arbeiten ehrenamtlich und erhalten keinerlei Förderung von öffentlicher Seite. Unsere Zielsetzung ist die Organisation und Durchführung eigenständiger Veranstaltungsreihen in unseren Vereinsräumen, mit denen wir einen Beitrag zur Verbreitung von Safer Sex leisten und umsetzen, ohne dabei auf Spaß und gemeinsame Aktivitäten zu verzichten.
Nach 13 erfolgreichen Jahren mussten wir unser angestammtes Domizil in der Eisenacher Straße verlassen und die Existenz des "Ajpnia" stand damit monatelang auf der Kippe. In letzter Minute konnten wir eine neue Bleibe finden. Kleiner als die alte, etwas weiter ab vom Szeneleben, aber trotzdem gut erreichbar.
Im Eingangsbereich zahlst Du den Eintrittspreis und ziehst zumindest deine Schuhe aus, denn es liegt überall frisch gesaugter Teppichboden. Ansonsten kannst Du an- und ausziehen was Du möchtest. Die meisten Gäste tragen Unterwäsche oder auch gar nichts, denn es ist bei uns angenehm warm.
Einen "Dresscode" gibt es bei uns nicht, denn es soll sich keiner zu etwas gezwungen fühlen. Wer unsicher ist oder, aus welchen Gründen auch immer, lieber etwas Kleidung anbehalten möchte, darf und soll das gerne tun. Deine Sachen kommen in eine nummerierte Box an der Garderobe, die Du Dir natürlich auch jederzeit geben lassen kannst. Die Garderobe ist bewacht. Du kannst also Geld, Wertsachen, Mobiltelefon (ausgeschaltet!), etc. dort lassen und musst es nicht mit Dir herum tragen. Die Nummer Deiner Box bekommst Du z. B. auf den Arm geschrieben, damit kannst Du dann an der Bar Getränke bestellen, die auf einem Getränkezettel vermerkt werden.
Neben dem Bar/Cafébereich haben wir im Erdgeschoss die Toiletten sowie eine Dusche. Wenn Du duschen möchtest, frage einfach beim Einlass nach einem frischen Handtuch. Das Untergeschoss bietet unseren ‘Verkehrsbereich‘ mit unterschiedlich hellen und in der Größe variierenden Séparées und Spielflächen, einem Bett und einer Videoecke. Kondome und Gleitgel liegen im Club aus und werden auch regelmäßig nachgefüllt. Wenn Du dann irgendwann gehen möchtest, holst Du Deinen Getränkezettel an der Bar und zahlst beim gehen an der Garderobe. Wir würden uns freuen, Dich als Gast in unserer Mitte begrüßen zu dürfen. Das Personal vom Ajpnia besteht aus freiwilligen / ehrenamtlichen Mitarbeitern. Der Verein bezieht keine öffentlichen Gelder. Alles wird von den Teilnehmergebühren und dem Verkauf von Getränken finanziert. Kondome, Gleitgel, ja sogar Gummibärchen und kostenlose Handtücher für die Dusche - jeder Cent den wir verdienen, geht zurück in den Club für das Wohl unserer Gäste. Wenn ein Mitarbeiter keinen Dienst hat, ist er ein normaler Gast. Egal ob sie privat oder dienstlich im Club sind, wir haben ein "Ziel": eine/n wundervolle/n Abend/Nacht und eine tolle Zeit im Ajpnia zu verbringen!
On May 14, 2000 14 gay men that had worked with or for other projects eg Schwuz, AHA etc, decided to create their own Association - to forward the common goals and ideas - a place where pozitive and non pozitive men could share experiences as well as the dissemination of safer sex info, all in a relaxed, non predudicial 'living room' atmosphere and so "Ajpnia" was founded on August 2, 2000, we aquired registered charity status. Then we found our first location in Eisenacher Str. - ane we were off!...
after 13 sucessful years, we had to leave our traditional home in the Eisenacherstrasse and the existance of "Ajpnia" stood for months on the brink. At the last minute we were able to find a new home - one that accepted us as well. A little smaller than the previous club, somewhat further from the 'scene' , but easily accesable from several underground and bus lines, and most importantly, the same atmosphere that in the old club won us so many regulars....from all corners of the globe!
Upon entering, you pay the entrance fee and are given a numbered box for your clothing and valuables, a bag to put you shoes in is also in the box ( to keep your clothing clean from the dirt of the street)- and that is our only clothing regulation - no shoes - because the whole club is carpeted (except the toilet area). What you oleave on, or thake off is up to you. Most guests wear underwear or nothing at all, because it is always pleasantly warm by us. Who - forever waht reason prefers to keep some clothing on can andd should do this, to be as relaxed as possible to enjoy the evening.
You hand in your box an the number is then written on your arm so you can order drinks at the bar. (the numberwashes off easily at the end of your stay, with a clreansing tissue at the cloakroom.) Thr cloakroom is supervised at all times, and is built to be clearly visible from the bar area. Valuables are very safe by us, but with very expensive articles we ask you to hand them in to be put into the party save during your stay.
In addition to the cafe/bar area, we have a basement - or cellar area, and the toilets and shower area. If you would like to shower, please ask for a towel at the cloakroom. The basement offers our 'play' area, with different lightinand different sized 'booths' all wit mattresses. Condom and lubericants are available in the club and can be found near the stairs down to the basement, or up to our gallery in/over the bar area, which is also layed out with mattresses, and seating for chatting, relaxing, or playing. Please note that the gallery is a 'quieter' play area, if you want to be loud, please do it in the baserement.
When yu want to leave us, simply ask for your drink card at the bar, even if you have had no drinks, and hand it in at the cloakroom. You can pay then when you have changed back into your clothes.

All workers of Ajpnia are volunteers, and the Association has no pblic funding. Everything is funded by the entrance fee and the sale of drinks. From condoms an lube to gummi bears, snacks, and free towels for the shower, every cent we earn goes back into the club, for our guests. When not working, our volunteers are just normal guests, every party is done to the highest standards, because it's also our party too, and we want to enjoy it with you.
